A Gentler Way to End the Year: 2025 Reflections & 2026 Intentions

If you’re anything like the people I coach – and like me – the end of the year can feel… complicated.

Part of you is proud you made it through another twelve months of life, work, health stuff, family responsibilities, world events.
Another part of you may feel tired to the bone and quietly dread the pressure of “New Year, New You”.

You know that you could set big goals, resolutions and milestones.
But honestly? You’re not sure you have the headspace, the energy, or the desire to chase another ideal version of yourself.

Why I’m Hosting a Reflection & Intension Session (That Isn’t About Reinventing Yourself)

In my work as a health & wellbeing coach, I see the same pattern over and over again:

  • People push through the year on adrenaline and responsibility.

  • They tend to arrive in December exhausted, unsure how they even got here.

  • Then the world tells them to “set massive goals” and “become your best self” – without giving them any space to actually process the year they’ve just lived.

There’s no integration. No pause. No chance to say:

“This is what this year cost me.
This is what it taught me.
This is what I’m ready to carry forward – and what I’m ready to put down.”

Without that pause, we end up dragging the same patterns into the next year on autopilot.

So I wanted to create a space that feels different:
Slower, kinder, and grounded in coaching – not self-criticism.

What This Workshop Is (And What It Isn’t)

It is:

  • A 60-minute live, online coaching session in a small group.

  • A gentle, structured space to look back on 2025 and look ahead to 2026.

  • A chance to get honest with yourself about what’s working, what’s draining you, and what you want more of.

  • A way to set intentions that honour your health, energy, and real life, not just your productivity.

It is not:

  • A pushy “transform your life in 30 days” webinar.

  • A place where you’ll be told to hustle harder or magically fix everything.

  • About perfection, rigid resolutions or shaming yourself into change.

If you’re already stretched thin, living with a long-term condition, feeling burnt out or simply human – this space is designed with you in mind.

What We’ll Explore Together

During our 60 minutes, I’ll guide you through coaching prompts and reflection exercises to help you:

1. Make Sense of 2025 (Without Judging Yourself)

We’ll begin by gently looking back at your year:

  • What demanded your energy – physically, emotionally, mentally?

  • What helped you get through the tough bits?

  • Where did you grow, even if no one else saw it?

The goal here isn’t to create a perfect timeline.
It’s to acknowledge your reality, name what this year has been, and offer yourself the credit you probably haven’t been giving.

2. Notice What You’re Ready to Leave Behind

Every year leaves residue.

That might be:

  • Habits that used to protect you but now keep you stuck

  • Expectations you’re carrying for other people

  • Stories you tell yourself about what you “should” be able to do by now

We’ll gently identify what you’re ready to soften, renegotiate or put down.

Sometimes the first step towards a different year is not adding more, but releasing what’s no longer yours to hold.

3. Reconnect With Your Values and Priorities

Instead of asking, “What should I achieve in 2026?”, we’ll ask:

  • “What matters most to me now?”

  • “What do I want my days to feel like?”

  • “What do I want to protect – my health, my relationships, my time, my peace?”

You’ll start to name or refine the values that will guide your decisions next year.
This is the foundation for any sustainable change.

4. Shape a Compassionate Vision for 2026

You’ll choose a guiding word, theme or direction for 2026 – something that feels like a gentle anchor, not a rigid rule.

This might be words like:

Steady. Enough. Healing. Growth. Boundaries. Joy. Rest. Confidence. Connection.

From there, we’ll sketch 1–3 gentle focus areas for the first quarter of 2026.
Think of these as lanes of attention, not a long to-do list.

5. Leave With a Simple Framework You Can Revisit

After the workshop, you’ll receive a Reflection & Intension PDF workbook containing:

  • The prompts we use live

  • Extra space to continue reflecting in your own time

  • A simple check-in framework you can return to throughout 2026

So you’re not leaving with “a nice feeling” that disappears the next day – you’re leaving with something practical.

A Little Coaching Taster You Can Try Now

To give you a feel for the space we’ll create, here’s a small reflection activity you can do today.

You might want a notebook and a quiet 10–15 minutes.

✍️ Mini Exercise: The Three Stories of 2025

Draw three short headings on a page

1. “The Story Other People See”

2. “The Story I Tell Myself”
3.“The Story I Want to Honour”

Now, for each one, write a few bullet points or sentences.

1. The Story Other People See

How might others describe your year from the outside?

  • “You’ve been so busy with work.”

  • “You’ve handled everything so well.”

  • “You’re always there for everyone.”

Just notice – no need to correct it yet.

2. The Story I Tell Myself

What do you quietly say to yourself about this year?

  • “I should have done more.”

  • “I’ve just been surviving.”

  • “I keep dropping the ball.”

Again, we’re just observing.

3. The Story I Want to Honour

Now imagine you’re talking to someone who sees the full picture with compassion – your future self, a kind friend, a coach.

What story would they tell about your 2025?

Maybe something like:

  • “You carried more than people realise, and you’re still here.”

  • “You made hard decisions with the information and energy you had.”

  • “You showed up for your health in small, quiet ways that mattered.”

Let this third story be your truth with softness.

💭 Coaching prompt:
Looking at these three stories, what feels most important to carry with you into 2026 – and what are you ready to gently put down?

If this exercise lands with you, the workshop will give you more spaces like this – guided, contained, and shared with others who get it.

Who This Space Is For

This workshop is for you if:

  • 2025 has felt like “a lot”, and you haven’t had time to process it.

  • You’re living with ongoing health conditions, stress or emotional load and want intentions that respect that reality.

  • You’re tired of intense goal-setting and want a more humane way to approach the new year.

  • You’d like some coaching support, but you’re not quite ready for a longer 1:1 programme yet.

You do not have to arrive with everything figured out.
You just need a willingness to pause, reflect, and be honest with yourself.
